Thanksgiving- How Communism Failed Long Before Karl Marx

“The strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes than he that was weak and not able to do a quarter the other could; this was thought injustice.”

– William Bradford,

Plymouth Colony

Thanksgiving, 2018

Thanksgiving started as a celebration of an abundance brought about by a rejection of an early Socialist scheme.

The story of how America became great began when Plymouth threw off its collectivist founding in favor of a free market.

Wait….your Frankfurt School indoctrinated, union member teacher in government school never taught you this? Perhaps they were too engrossed in the long march to give you all the details.

The story is so powerful, that the left is flooding search engines with claims it is not true, in a effort to snuff out the truth.

Read the memoirs from the Governor of the colony himself, William Bradford, who wrote “Of Plymouth Plantation”.

Send it to revisionist liberals and post it where they spread their lies.

The “Cliff’s Notes” version of the actual events behind the first Thanksgiving are that half of the colonists died or went back to England in the first year under their utopian Socialism scheme.

The Pilgrims “languish[ed] in misery” sharing their labor and its fruits.

The collectivism “was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment.”

But it pleased God to visit us then with death daily, and with so general a disease that the living were scarce able to bury the dead.

-William Bradford

Two and a half years later they abandoned the idea, and each colonist got their own piece of land, and private property and the free market soon created abundance where famine previously ruled.

They celebrated with a feast, we now honor as “Thanksgiving”.

“This had very good success,” Bradford explained, “for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been by any means the Governor or any other could use, and saved him a great deal of trouble, and gave far better content.

The women now went willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to set corn; which before would allege weakness and inability; whom to have compelled would have been thought great tyranny and oppression.”

This simple explanation of how the free market works stands as a beacon throught the ages. We must never give in to the siren song of safety amd security in trade for our freedom. The only way to make the forest equal is with hatchet, axe, and saw.

Enjoy the wealth and bounty this Thanksgiving, in the greatest nation the world has ever known.

Remember the key insight that made it all happen.

“Reject Socialism.”

Though I bequeath you no estate, I leave you in the enjoyment of liberty.

-William Bradford
